Direct one-on-one sessions with the client. This may look different depending on the age of the client. For younger clients most sessions with take place in the play area and for older clients sessions may take place in the therapeutic area. However, any client, no matter the age, is permitted to utilize any tool in the room to create a safe and trusting environment. ​The goal of individual therapy is to provide a safe, confidential space where individuals can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and develop strategies to improve their mental health, cope with stress, overcome obstacles, and achieve personal growth. ​Individual therapy is a supportive space for self-exploration, healing, and change, fostering a stronger sense of well-being and personal empowerment.

Sessions involving multiple family members working together with a trained therapists to address issues that affect the dynamics of a family as a whole. This type of session focuses on creating change in a family environment by improving communication, resolving conflicts, and strengthening relationships within a family unit. At times this may provide challenges for the client, but the overall goal is to bring awareness to the family in order to create understanding and healing. The goal of family therapy is to improve understanding, foster healthier relationships, and create solutions to common family problems such as communication breakdowns, behavioral issues, marital problems, parenting challenges, or managing crises like addiction, grief, or trauma. Therapists use various approaches and techniques in family therapy, tailored to the specific needs and circumstances of the family. This collaborative process aims to improve family dynamics, enhance problem-solving skills, and ultimately promote a healthier, more supportive family environment.

Parent sessions are designed to help parents navigate the challenges of raising children, improving their parenting skills, and enhancing their relationship with their children. These sessions provide a safe and confidential space for parents to discuss their concerns, seek guidance, and develop strategies to address specific parenting challenges, whether related to child behavior, communication issues, discipline strategies, or family dynamics. Parent counseling focuses on empowering parents to better understand their child's needs, emotions, and behaviors, while also helping them manage their own stress, emotions, and expectations. It can be especially beneficial during times of transition, such as a child's adolescence, sibling rivalry, or family crises like divorce, loss, or trauma. Our therapists may use a variety of approaches in parent counseling, including cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness practices, attachment theory, and behavioral strategies, all aimed at fostering healthier family relationships, improving parenting practices, and promoting the well-being of both parents and children. It involves working with one of our trained therapists who specializes in addressing issues children may face, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, bullying, family changes, or behavioral problems. In children's counseling, the therapist often uses play therapy, creative arts, storytelling, and other interactive techniques to help children express their feelings, understand their emotions, and develop healthy coping strategies.
